Searching results that contain all the given words:
If you search for verses that contain all the given words (in optional order) you have to link the words with operation word “AND” in capital letters (or operation sign &). If there is no operation sign between two words the search works as if there was an “AND” between them. The program uses mathematical intersection set operation in the background between the verses specified by the words.
E.g.:
man AND peace
man peace
man & peace
Searching results that contain at least one of the given words:
If you search for verses that contain at least one of the given words in optional order you have to link the words with operation word “OR” in capital letters (or with operation sign | ). The program uses mathematical union set operation in the background between the verses specified by the words.
E.g.:
lord OR king OR mighty
If you use more operations between the words entered (both “AND” and “OR”) you (usually) have to put the words linked with “OR” into brackets because of the priorities of the operators. “AND” is in priority to “OR”. The expression in brackets is considered to be coherent.
E.g.:
( lord OR king OR mighty) AND man
The following expression without brackets:
lord OR king OR mighty AND man
is the same as:
lord OR king OR ( mighty ÉS man )
Searching results not containing the given words:
If you search for verses that do not contain the given words you have to write operation word “NO” in capital letters (or operation sign !) in front of the words. If you want to give more criterion you (usually) link them with operation word “AND” which can be omitted. The program uses mathematical inversion set operation in the background between the verses specified by the words.
E.g.:
NOT man
( lord VAGY king ) AND NOT man
